I have been working on this new guitar rosette for a classical guitar.
The mosaic design is basically a replica of the rosettes made by Luthier David Rubio.
This is the 2nd time I am making a rosette myself, and I have yet to make my own design.
I used Maple, Mansonia and Macassar ebony wood for the entire rosette.
Mansonia is a rather uncommon wood, the color is green brownish, and I cant wait to see what it looks like once it's finished.
The mosaic design is made of 195 strips of wood.
click on the pictures to view them in a larger format, pictures will open in a new window.
