Brand new Flamenco Negra guitar, coming soon. I started building this guitar last winter but never got around to completely finishing it. This guitar is currently in the french polish stage and should be done pretty soon, so stay tuned for more pictured.
Here are some more build process pictures of the custom explorer. Most of the preparations are done. All the blanks are planed flat and smooth and all the markings have been made. The channel for the truss-rod has been routed. I made a start with the Ebony headstock overlay and the headstock angle. The next steps are very interesting to witness, because in a very short period of time the raw pieces of wood take shape and start to look like a actual guitar. Stay tuned for more pictures of this building process!

I assembled the 8 string guitar to see how things line up. I stained the flamed maple neck and finished it with a few layers of shellack, the body will also be finished in shellack. The neck is a 1 piece Flamed Maple with a Walnut skunkstripe, 26 fanned frets. The body is made of Red Alder. Graphtech nut and saddles, custom made bridgeplate, strings through body. 1 volume and 3 way blade switch.
Check out these awesome boards of Honduras Mahogany, a gorgeous wood with an incredible rich sound. These are the leftover pieces of the wood I used to build the '58 Explorer I build in the past, and these will be used to build another Explorer, this time for my friend and awesome Amp builder Sytze Bonte. Stay tuned for more pictures of this build!
